What Is AWANA?

AWANA is a fun place where kids can learn about the Bible and basic Christian truths. The name “AWANA” is taken from 2 Timothy 2:15 and stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed. The goal of our AWANA club is to disciple children and help them grow spiritually, by encouraging them to read and memorize God’s Word.

Our AWANA club meets during the school year on Wednesday afternoons, from 3:30 – 5:00. Any kid, from preschool age to 6th grade is welcome to join us. Each club meeting consists of four parts: snacks, game time, small group time, and large group time. Occasionally, we will have activities for the whole family, such as the AWANA Grand Prix. Download our schedule for a complete list of events and meeting times.

Our award system and encouraging environment help motivate children to memorize their Bible verses and learn what Scripture really means. Kids who complete their sections have the opportunity to earn “AWANA bucks”, which can be spent in our “AWANA store”. Furthermore, anyone who completes their handbook is able to bring their entire family to our Award Banquet at the end of the year.

The total yearly cost for a clubber to attend AWANA is $40. This covers the handbook, shirt, and achievement badges. If you cannot afford this, don’t worry. We don’t want anyone to stop coming because of finances and will provide the same materials to all clubbers. However, if you are able, it would be of great help to the club.
